Pay Day Tale

I looked at my notes in my Contemporary American Society class this morning to see if I had some paper due today that I could work on. Lo and behold we had our test this morning! Oi! I wasn't prepared like I should have been, alas, I still showed up and took it. I have absolutely NO idea how I did.

On the flip side, I was ecstatic to hear that the financial aid is in a week early and we could pick up our checks today! So that is what I did! I feel rich, but only for a minute. I know that bills have to be paid etc. but it sure feels nice to have a big check just sitting in my purse. Oh that's so rare!

So I leave you now my bloggers with rich fantasies of plush vacations and spa treatments, if only in my dreams while housing a check already spent in my pocket! Ahhhh.....

Love ya!

Please Read True Tale

Please Read:
A fellow blogger has this up on his website and I just had to share with all of you. It is important that you understand what's happening in our world so you can make better voting choices and know your rights. Be aware, people. This is our future.

Parents of elementary and middle school students in a small California town are protesting a tracking program their school recently launched, which requires students to wear identification badges embedded with radio frequency, or RFID, chips.School superintendents struck a deal with a local maker of the technology last year to test the system to track attendance and weed out trespassers.Dawn and Mike Cantrall's daughter, a seventh-grader at Brittan Elementary School, poses at her Sutter, Calif., home, wearing the Radio Frequency Identification tag that the school asked her to wear. The Cantralls have filed a formal complaint against the school board, protesting the tag. The elementary school in this tiny rural school district has become an unlikely pioneer on the technology frontier by agreeing to test student I.D. cards designed to automatically take attendance. The badges use the same Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology that has been used to track livestock and store inventory _ and have outraged some parents with privacy concerns who say they were never consulted. But students and parents, who weren't told about the RFID chips until they complained, are upset over what they say are surreptitious tactics the school used to implement the program. They also question the ethics of a monetary deal the school made with the company to test and promote its product, using students as guinea pigs."This is not right for our kids," said Michele Tatro, whose daughter received a badge. "I'm not willing for anybody to track me and I don't think my children should be tracked, either." -- See the full story at Wired.com
(fellow blogger comments)
Isn't it amazing how these stories are just popping up all over the place? The government is trying to force us to accept new technology which is diguised as something other than what it is intended for down the line. Sure, this would be a great way to keep track of kids (so would...ahem...a teacher's eyes) but it's also a great way to get kids used to such technology from an early age so when they reach adulthood they will not freak out when they are asked to receive a chip implant for other purposes. Those purposes will also be disguised for something other than what they are. We will be told they are for a cashless society, on-demand medical records, driver's license elimination, elimination of illegal immigrants, but in truth they would be the government's ideal way to keep track of us all and keep us under its thumb. The plans are being drawn up as we speak, the technology is available, but it will not be forced down upon as immediately. The government will first attempt to get us used to such things first. I'm just thankful these parents were watchful, responsible adults. And they're not going to stop at just getting their childrens' school to ban such things -- they're taking the issue as far as it can possibly go, in order to raise awareness and ban all such technology in the future. I don't think it will do much good -- it's going to happen whether we like it or not -- but there's no harm in trying. http://repentant.modblog.com/

Tale of Blended Union

Blended Union

Sweet fragrance, pungent.
Harsh odor, fowl.
Relationship 'tween two runs swift parallel.

Delicate flavor, subtle.
Spicy essence, hints.
Comparison 'twix pair slips slow intersection.

Lovely lady, graceful.
Handsome sir, chivalrous.
Marriage upon entire senses creates blended union.

Tale of the Day Begins

The Day Begins

In the morn, ‘tween dark and light
Morning breaks in silent thunder.
Body succumbs to a wave of slumber.
What will arouse this limping carcass
That drags behind the willing heart?
Senses rest despite the wake.

Vision blurred; eyes reluctant…
Java drips from yonder pot.
Welcomed fragrance enters my nares.
Alas the trumpet and bells alarm,
Reminiscence of responsibilities
Calendar waits for nothing; no one.

As the shower head begins to cry
Naked obedience enters within.
Standing, hoping soap finds my hands,
Eyes won’t open; joints won’t move…

Alas, warm water returns muscles from stones.
Loosened statue takes on life, music flows.

Cleansing rain weeps no more.

Warm towel invites the dew.

Cool brisk material drapes my body.

Mirror reflects recognizable image

A face I’ve grown to endure.

Distant steps, then, abrupt knocking
Breaks my morning trance.
Alert for the message, the guest is beckoned.
Response is familiar, ever repeating….
MOM! Are you done? I gotta go….
And thus my day begins.

A Valen'tale' for my Darling

Dearest love, my life, my dear
Life is sweet when you are near
Touch my hand and we will fly
Above the trees into the nigh!

As we drift into the night
We will hold each other tight
Warmth emits from 'tween our skin
Inviting love to enter in!

Hush, my darling, be still and calm
Let my kiss become a balm
To heal your wounds and soothe your life
Trust in me, for I'm your wife!

Tale of Slumber Party

Hello there,
I had a good weekend. It was my "Valentine's"/neice's birthday slumber party this Saturday. It was a girls' night celebration. So I packed up my 3yr old daughter and we went for a drive to my sister's house. I got matching pajamas for my daughter and I (well color matched anyway) and socks. We got there and there were lots of balloons and games and giggles! It was fun to see my neice enjoy herself with her friends and to see my sister watch her daughter having fun. I think my sister is always worried about her children being accepted and happy. So it was nice that she was able to see my neice have so much fun. My mother-in-law is staying at my sister's house for these two weeks before she returns to our house, so I was able to visit with her this weekend. It was good to see her. She had a bit of a cold and couldn't talk well, but she seemed like she was ok otherwise. I have to say, I sure did miss my family when I was gone. But I'm glad I had the chance to spend time with my sister's family too.
I guess I don't have anything else to say for now.
Take care Bloggers! I'll start writing poetry soon! Stay tuned!

MMOOOOOOOOOOOoooooomm Tale

Hello,

I wasn't feeling well at all yesterday and slept the day away, even though I had classes. Arg. I fought with myself about it and I fell asleep. Oh well! I did what I felt was best. So I busted my butt to get an assignment that was due yesterday into the digital drop box before midnight. It was 12:15am. Let's hope she accepts it.
Today I have only one class where we have a guest speaker for an hour. After that I'm going to the library to try to catch up on my homework where I can get some peace and quiet. I'm really finding out I can't study here. I guess I knew that, but last semester's classes weren't so bad. This semester, I need silence. All the reading and researching. Last night, I couldn't get once sentence read before someone would scream MOOOOOooooooooom! Then I'd take care of an owie, dispute, lost item, empty sippy, dvd ending etc. I just couldn't satisfy anyone long enough to get work done. So, alas, I must work at school. It's all for the best I'm sure.
I may write later, but right now I must take a shower and get on my way! It's an hour there and I have only an hour and a half to go before class starts!
Bye for now,

Peachy, Mushy Tale

Hey guys,
It's me...how are you? I'm peachy. I'm avoiding homework once again. Shame, oh shame on me! I find it most difficult to be motivated this semester. Could one of you please kick me in my cyber butt to move me into gear???

Seriously, we've had quite an interesting start of the new year. Hubby's mother has been here almost 2 weeks and now is taking turns staying with my sister and her family. I have so enjoyed her here, and miss her. I'm glad that my sister and her family have the opportunity to spend some quality time with her as well. Nana is such a unique and giving woman. Though she may not have a lot of money, she offers a wealth of knowledge and history to our conversations. And the love she put into her cooking is unmatched. She is most unique and precious.

Then, we have my daughter's surgery last week. Whenever we go through that, we seem to lose track of all sense of order. I get behind with bills and tend to put things off. She made it through the surgery and recovery very well, however, it did break my heart seeing her cry and blood draining out of her mouth and nose and ears. She is such a trooper. I love my daughter so much, and the fact that she's my only daughter out of 4 children, makes her even that more special.

My husband, as I mentioned in a previous post, went to the doctor last week for bleeding issues and now is scheduled for a colonoscopy this Friday. He and I are both anxious and apprehensive about the whole deal. I'm concerned for him because his health is always somewhat in a precarious state. Add to that the fact that he is suffering from some depression etc. and other health issues. I'm concerned for him. I'm concerned for us. I love him so much, as he is my true and only love. He and I have such a deep connection, words can no longer express it. Just know, we are one. So again, I ask you to pray for him, for us as a couple and family. Thank you.

Well, I got all mushy and I don't know what I'm doing, hee hee! I guess I need to go and pretend to do.....er that is, do my homework.

Bye for now,
Dovey

Tale of the Unfocused

Hey Bloggies!

Did I mention I'm not liking this semester? Huh? Na, seriously, it's not the classes...it's me. I have the discipline of a wild boar. I swear. I need to try much harder to work on my homework consistently and focus!! It takes a lot of reading and writing in this class to get a good grade. I can read, and I can write...but I don't like too much of either! I prefer to talk, chat, eat, and sing! Ah, such is life.

I missed an assignment this week. I'm really bummed about that. I had a lot of the research done but my instructor is rather strict in the fact that if you do not have it in at 9:00am on Thursday Morning that week, it will not be accepted...period.

So, I procrastinated and Beth had her surgery on Thursday...therefore, I missed my classes. Needless to say I didn't finish my assignment/paper and definately didn't make the deadline. So, what I'm thinking is to finish it up this weekend and send it off to her anyway just to show her that I'm doing my work and intend on continuing on in the class. Sound good? She'll probably toss it, but oh well.

My daughter had her surgery yesterday, bless her heart. She is a trooper! Her little mouth hurts, and her cheeks are swollen, and she has various "boo boos". I try to kiss them all when she talks about them. I also have set up a coming home/get well party for her with a Care Bear theme. I really think she is going to like it. We told her we were going to do it and she can't wait! I think it helps to lift her spirits.

So, as soon as I'm done writing this blog, I'm leaving school, and off to home where I pick up Nana, pick up brother at school, deposit my check, pick up medicine, get gas in the van, wash the van, then drive 1.5hours to pick up the little darling and my husband from the hospital. You see, I had to go to school this morning so he stayed with her overnight and I'm so thankful!
I will write more later when I have more time!

Bye for now,
Dovey

Idol Tale

Hey!

Good morning, Bloggers! How is everyone on this fine Wednesday? I am feeling pretty good as I got better sleep last night than I have in a while. I went to bed earlier. Imagine that. :o/

I think hubby is upset with me, and that always bothers me. I ask him if he is and he just says no but withdraws emotionally, mentally, and physically. I can feel when he's upset. I think I made him mad last night. Bugs me. :o(

My 3yr old daughter's having her surgery tomorrow on her palate. Like I told you before, hopefully it will be her last for a while. She's been through a lot and she knows tomorrow they will "fix her mouth". Precious dear. Pray for us, will you?

Well, last night we had Pizza Hut pizza delivered, courtesy of Nana. Bless her heart! It was rather tasty! Everyone had plenty, except for Mr. Picky (my 2yr old stinker). He doesn't like very many things.

I'm an American Idol fan and watch it every week when I have the opportunity. I enjoy music a lot and singing although I'm too old to try to be an American Idol. I think I might have at an earlier time in my life. I know I could sing circles around a lot of those people who have absolutely no clue they can't sing! It really breaks my heart sometimes to see the looks on their faces when they are told how horrible they sound. But sometimes, that's just what they need to know. Anyway, it's fun, and our whole family gets in on it so it's more of a family event! During commercials we talk about who was good and who should "go to Hollywood".

Well, I have some homework to do so I had better get trucking!

Later Bloggers,
Dovey
